Jim Buenzli

Jim grew up in McHenry and graduated from McHenry Community High School. He played four years of golf for and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1983 where he earned an Education Degree and a Coaching Certificate. He played professional golf for nine years, highlighted by qualifying for the 1992 Western Open. He qualified and played in the 2017 U.S. Senior Open. He began teaching golf in McHenry County in 1987. He is a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certified fitness professional, TPI certified level 2 junior coach.

Why I Teach Golf
Each morning I cannot wait to begin my first lesson. I believe teaching golf is what I was born to do (major definite purpose in life). I enjoy everything about the game of golf. My passion for the game has not dwindled in 46 years of playing and 28 years of teaching. The Golf Academy at Terra Cotta is the realization of a life long dream to provide the best practice and learning environment possible.
